THERAPY
Behavior Therapy (BT): helps us to change behavior leading to change the way we feel. For example scheduling activity to help a person manage time better. Behavior activity also helps children who have poor social skills, excess anger, habits of lying, stealing.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT): Works to change negative thoughts in order to bring about positive change in behavior/ attitude. (e.g.). Angry people can control their anger by CBT.
Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy (REBT): helps to identify and dispute irrational beliefs. It especially benefits people with low self esteem who feel that they have not achieved anything in life. It helps them to re-access themselves and strengthen their esteem.
Relaxation: For a lay person relaxation means either watching a TV, listening to songs, indulging in hobbies or going on a holiday trip. However for a Clinical Psychologist, Relaxation is a technique, which drains the tension from the muscles of the body and induces a comfortable light sensation in the body. Further, it ameliorates anxiety and instills a calm state of mind.
Relaxation technique leads to the following benefits:

1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime.
Every day we face challenges that can impact our mental health, particularly when many of us are isolated from our support networks due to the pandemic.
Project Psychiatry will provide quality treatment free of cost to people with mental health issues at their doorstep.
A dedicated convoy of vans carrying medicines, testing equipment/material and psychiatric counselors would be ON THE GO to slums and less privileged communities in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Project Psychiatry also aims to empower people to manage their symptoms earlier and stop their mental health from deteriorating, wherein; counseling and advisement will be provided for long term medication for conditions like – Bipolar /Personality disorder, Stress, Fear & Anxiety, Depression.
With this campaign, Project Psychiatry, we intend to reach out and reduce the stigma attached to mental health illness, so sufferers can access/receive support without fear of being stigmatized and to break the culture of silence. This would also enable professional help to reach the doorstep of those who cannot be conveyed to the hospital. If initiated, this project will be one of its kinds in India.
Psychiatry, On the Go: Our Goals:
1. To provide quality psychiatric services for free.
2. To make psychiatry care accessible to everyone.
3. To reduce the stigma around visiting a Psychiatric center.
